About the event
We Are Doc Women, in collaboration with ABC Projects, invite you to an evening dedicated to bringing together the Unscripted production community in the North for conversation, connection and inspiration.
This event is for anyone working in Unscripted TV production, documentary filmmaking or content creation across the North West who is keen to meet like-minded people and feel part of a supportive and engaged community. While We Are Doc Women exists to champion and support women in Unscripted TV and documentary film across the UK, this event is open to everyone. At a time when many in the industry are facing challenges around work and connection, creating an inclusive space to come together feels more important than ever.
We’re delighted to be joined by two outstanding guest speakers: Anna Hall, founder of Leeds-based Candour Films, whose work includes award-winning and ground-breaking documentaries such as the BAFTA-winning Libby, Are You Home Yet? and Groomed: A National Scandal, and Benjamin Hirsch from Manchester-based Workerbee, known for producing a wide range of premium factual and factual entertainment projects including Molly-Mae: Behind It All and Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix. They will be sharing insights into their work, discussing what’s ahead, and reflecting on the future of Unscripted production in the North.
The evening will be relaxed, informal and interactive, beginning with a Q&A before opening up into plenty of time to mingle. Rather than a formal panel, this is designed as a space for open conversation, where attendees are encouraged to ask questions, share perspectives and connect with both the speakers and each other.
The hope is that everyone leaves having met new people, strengthened their network and feels more connected to the production industry in the North West.
ABC is itself a thriving community within the production and media landscape, providing a hub for those working across the industry. This event is one of many initiatives that supports connection, collaboration and opportunity, helping to strengthen networks and create space for people to come together.
