How to Make Films and Influence People
The true story of one filmmaker's quest to get an idea that TV turned down into cinemas and onto the big screen.

ABC Buildings, 21 - 23 Quay St, Manchester M3 4AE, UK
About the event
When Helen Tither got access to an untold story of a rebel women’s football team, she believed that the best home for her documentary would be terrestrial TV. She was told the story was too northern and too niche, but Helen began producing the film regardless.
Hear how Helen and her team built a network of influencers and investors to take The Corinthians: We Were the Champions all the way to the cinemas, winning accolades, applause, and apologies along the way!
From finding your story, to funding, distribution and impact, this panel explores the highs and the lows of getting your work out there and noticed!
Panellists:
Helen Tither - Producer / Director - The Corinthians
Zoe Callan - Executive Producer - The Corinthians
Liz Kingston - Funder - BT (funded The Corithians)
Jane Crombleholme - Chair Manchester Football Association
Chair:
Beth Hewitt - RTS Northwest Vice Chair & Creative Industries Producer
